Mindfulness–A Critical Skill for Being Your Best Self in Life and at Work
Everyone experiences stress. Practicing mindfulness has been shown to be a powerful technique for people at any age or stage of life to help better manage ourselves through a variety of situations. This session defines what mindfulness is, covers the benefits of practicing mindfulness, and provides an opportunity for participants to learn mindfulness skills through a series of practical exercises.
Communication is essential to being a successful manager and leader. Managers or leaders with interpersonal savvy builds rapport with others. They are able to get what they need without damaging others, and as a result, direct reports and others are more willing to work on your behalf or give you what you want! This session covers a range of interpersonal approaches and communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) and knowing when to use what with whom to maximize on-the-job success.
Emotional Intelligence (EI)
Since Daniel Goleman published his groundbreaking book, Emotional Intelligence in 1995, the field of emotional intelligence has blossomed. Research supports the critical role EI plays in leadership competence, and comprises “make-or-break” skills needed for leadership success in today’s business environment. This session provides an overview of the EQi-2.0 model developed by MHS Assessments and explains how results of this assessment can be used to help people develop their EI for better functioning in life and work.
The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™
The Daring Way™ —a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. Presentations are customized to meet client interests and include exploring topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness and how they affect our ability to be our best, most productive selves at work.

Biography of Laura Sharon, MA, ACC, CDWF
Laura is a seasoned learning and performance improvement consultant and executive and life coach with more than 28 years of professional experience. She has extensive experience, education, and expertise in the areas of front-end performance analysis and assessment; program evaluation; leadership; organizational change; coaching; business process improvement; interpersonal communications; training design and delivery; and meeting facilitation.
Laura has been a mindfulness practitioner for over 30 years and is an EQ-I 2.0 Certified Practitioner, trained in the Mindful Schools curriculum, a Kirkpatrick Certified Facilitator, and a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF).
